In order to be a teacher in Ontario, and become part of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), one must attain a license from the Ontario College of Teachers. Due to the major I chose, I was funnelled into certification for middle school and high school law and general social sciences.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE
(ONLINE)
Theory of Knowledge (Cat. 1)
Certified January 2021
These workshops mainly focus on IB philosophy and implementation. The International Baccalaureate program is one of the fastest growing and most well renowned education programs in the world. I thought it would be prudent to become aware of the IB philosophy and programme structure. I am familiar with the IB subject guide and would like greater confidence before teaching a course.

Since I am a licenced teacher in Ontario, Canada, I thought it would be a good idea to also be licensed abroad as well. The first country that came to my mind when deciding where to get licensed was the United Kingdom. The U.K. is well renowed for its schools, and its dediaiton to high quality education. It would be an absolute honour to be part of this tradition of excellence if the opportunity ever arose.

British Columbia, and more precicely Vancoucer, is well known for its diversity. People from all over the world flock to Vanvoucer to exerience the freedom and acceptance that is the core of Canadian culture. If one is truly a global citizen, then they need to visit this metropolis and experience the gifts that every culture brings to Canada. This inpired me to strive for a certification to teach in British Columbia.

TOEF/TEFL Certified (100 hours)
July 2012
Upon graduating with my Bachelor's of Education it was initially difficult to get a job. Understandably, not many schools wanted to hire a teacher right out of school. Even so, all the jobs I could attain required a TOEFL/TEFL certification. Luckily, I was able to join a TOEFL/TEFL seminar offered by Oxford. It was here I learned not only the structure of the TOEFL test but the basics of English Language instruction.

Assessment in 21st Century Classrooms
December 2016
In my search for professional development opportunities, I came across Intel Corporation's Intel Teach programs. In this division of the corporation, they offer educators online professional development courses. I learned to integrate technology effectively into my classroom, and teach the skills required in the high tech, networked society in which we live.
